To make it easier to create and update content for the NIU website, the web team has created a collection of articles on a range of web content and design topics. Located in Freshdesk, the system where web coordinators submit web updates, the Knowledge Base brings together best practices, step-by-step guidance and answers to common questions in a centralized location.
To view the Knowledge Base, log in to Freshdesk and select Knowledge Base. If you’re already logged in via single sign-on, niu.freshdesk.com/support/solutions will take you to the Knowledge Base.
Knowledge Base Topics
The Knowledge Base is organized by topic, so you can quickly find what you need. Here’s an overview of the subject areas available now:
- Creating and editing webpages: best practices for headings, images, videos, different content types and file management
- Creating and editing documents: how to create accessible Microsoft documents; sharing and linking strategies
- Creating and editing forms: how to develop forms with Kuali Build, Qualtrics and Microsoft Forms
- Requesting web updates: submitting your changes and communicating about your update
