Jory Keller is one of longest-standing members of the web team—and one of the most inventive. She brings an enthusiasm for finding new solutions to her role as web design lead, as well as a dedication to improving the accessibility of NIU’s online content.
In 2011, Jory joined the web team as a graduate assistant and was hired full time in 2016. With a bachelor’s degree in mass communication/cinema and media arts from Biola University and a master’s degree in English from NIU, she brings an eye for visual composition and an expertise with language to her work designing and updating websites.
Jory enjoys the collaborative nature of the web team and welcomes opportunities for innovation: “I love working on special projects that involve coming up with and implementing solutions for challenging situations.” Her fresh perspective and technical knowledge are appreciated by colleagues and clients across campus.
Whether she’s rethinking content strategies, determining site navigation or creating a new layout, Jory’s work is informed by current best practices in the industry. She has a particular interest in accessibility and strives to ensure that NIU websites are engaging and informative to the widest possible audience.
A lifelong resident of Rockford, Illinois, Jory brings the same caring energy to her life outside work, where she volunteers with the high school group at her church. The talented freelance photographer also enjoys DIY projects, woodworking, reading, cooking, spending time with friends and playing trivia, volleyball and tennis.
